Connect Google Calendar
When you connect a calendar, the appointments your receptionist books are added to it, and your receptionist checks it before offering a time. You can connect Google Calendar or Calendly. You can connect one calendar at a time.
Connect your calendar
- In the portal, open Calendar.
- Under Connect your calendar, choose Google Calendar.
- Sign in to the Google account whose calendar you use for work.
- Allow Bectify to access your Google Calendar. You come back to the Calendar page when you finish.
You can also do this during setup, in the Connect Calendar step. That step is optional, so you can skip it and connect later from Calendar.
What you see once it is connected
A card at the top shows your calendar, the account it is connected as, and its status. Below it you get a month view, your upcoming appointments, and the Blocked for booking card.
- To give the calendar a name your team will recognize, select the pencil next to its name (Rename calendar).
- Appointments are refreshed from your calendar when you open the Calendar page.
Bectify uses the main calendar of the Google account you connect.
If it says "Reconnect needed"
This means Bectify lost access to your calendar, for example because the password changed or access was removed in Google. Select Reconnect now and sign in again. Do it soon: until then, your receptionist cannot check or book on your calendar.
Switch to a different calendar
You have to disconnect the current one first. If you try to add a second one, you see: "You already have a calendar connected. Disconnect it first to connect a different one."
- Open Calendar.
- On the calendar card, select Disconnect. If you see a note instead, open Support and select Submit a ticket.
- Confirm. Past appointments stay linked to the old calendar.
- Connect the new calendar.
If you use Calendly
Choose Calendly in step 2 and sign in to Calendly. Bookings go through your Calendly event type, so it works best when your Calendly account has one active event type.
If you do not connect a calendar
Your receptionist still takes appointment requests and tells the customer you will confirm the time. The details are emailed to the addresses under Settings › Notifications › Email recipients. Nothing is added to an outside calendar.
