Your data and deleting it
Bectify stores the information your receptionist collects for your business so that you and your team can see it in the portal. This article explains what is kept, what you can delete yourself, and how to ask for something to be deleted.
What Bectify keeps
- Conversations with your customers: calls, chats and texts, with the messages and the times they happened.
- The details customers give, such as their name, phone number and what they asked for.
- Your own account details, settings and billing records.
You own your business data. Bectify processes it for you.
Delete conversations yourself
The account owner and admins can delete conversations from the Inbox.
- Open Inbox.
- Switch to the Table view.
- Tick the conversations you want to delete.
- Select Delete.
- When asked "Delete {n} conversations?", select Delete again.
The conversations and their messages are removed from your Inbox, and you can't bring them back from the portal. If a conversation can't be deleted there, the portal tells you.
If one of your customers asks you to delete their data
- Delete their conversations from the Inbox, as described above.
- If they want their information fully erased from Bectify's systems, email privacy@bectify.com. Include the phone number or account the customer used to contact your business, so the records can be found.
Your customers can also read how to make a request themselves at www.bectify.com/data-deletion.
What happens to your data when you cancel
Canceling your plan does not delete anything. Your data is kept while your account is active; after your account is closed, it is deleted on request. If you want your data permanently deleted after you cancel, you have to ask for it.
Download your leads and contacts
You can download your leads and contacts as a CSV file at any time:
- Leads: on a computer, open Inbox, select Download report, choose the period, then select Download CSV.
- Contacts: open Contacts and select Export CSV.
Ask for deletion or other data
There is no button in the portal to delete your whole account. Other data is available on request; see the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy for how requests are handled. To ask for deletion or for other data:
- email privacy@bectify.com, or
- submit a ticket from the Support page. See "Contact Bectify support".
Say which business the request is for and what you want deleted or sent to you.
